CentreVenture Development Corporation

This interior design project provided CentreVenture, an advocate for economic development in downtown Winnipeg, with new office space that strengthened its presence in Winnipeg’s revitalized SHED District.

The offices are located in Cityplace, a busy downtown mall that was also recently renovated by Number TEN. The design takes full advantage of a retail storefront which provides an opportunity for display and promotion of projects currently on the boards. An awkwardly angled floor plan was used to the client’s advantage, creating public zoning at the storefront, client and meeting areas beyond and private, confidential workspace towards the back of the unit.

As a former Eaton’s warehouse, the Cityplace building inspired the physical expression of the office. Weathered plank wood-look flooring in the reception area, industrial accent lighting and steel details gives a more urban feel to the mainly monochromatic space. Column and carpet inlays offer up the signature CentreVenture orange as a subtle reinforcement of the brand. The new CentreVenture offices greatly improve the client’s visibility, and provides a mix of office and open concept work-spaces to encourage informal communication between staff.
